Mr. Makanja Manono

Makanja is a tax and corporate lawyer, with a vast legal knowledge and experience, rooted from long period of litigation in Tanzania legal system. Before founding LUNO Law Chambers, Makanja had worked as a litigation attorney with several laws firms where he represented clients in different legal forums in Tanzania. In his legal career, spanning over fifteen years, he focuses on Land Law, Banking Law, Tax Law, Labour Law, Corporate Law, Construction Law, Contract Law as well as Civil and Commercial Litigation.

Makanja has been involved in major cases before the tax tribunals, procurement tribunals, land tribunals, High Court of Tanzania (Land Division & Commercial Division) and the Court of Appeal. He brings with him a track record in bank recovery cases and tax litigation. Makanja also has experience in handling complex corporate matters such as corporate formation and establishment, company secretarial service, tax advisory, contract review and drafting and regulatory compliance.

Makanja is an advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and subordinate courts. He is a graduate of Master of Laws (LL.M, 2016) and Bachelor of Laws (LL. B- Hons, 2008), from the University of Dar es Salaam, and Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (PGDLP), from the Law School of Tanzania (2011). He is also a trained and registered Arbitrator by the Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators.
